Rabbi Dr. Stuart Halpern is one of the WebYeshiva.org Halacha Mastery Program’s first recipients of semicha.

Chief of Staff to Yeshiva University President Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, Rabbi Halpern noted that learning Torah is foundational and essential to living and growing as a Jew and WebYeshiva.org provided the perfect outlet.

“I chose the Halacha Mastery Program because it fit my very busy work schedule and I enjoyed learning from the educators,” he said.

“In the program, I particularly enjoyed learning hilchot Shabbat and analyzing the many contemporary scenarios discussed by the modern day poskim. The knowledge gained was very practical,” Halpern added.

Rabbi Halpern received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Psychology in Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, an MA in Bible from The Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies at Yeshiva University, an MBA in Nonprofit Management from Touro University, and an EdD from the Azrieli Graduate School of Education and Administration of Yeshiva University.

Rabbi Halpern is also the editor or co-editor of 14 books, most recently Books of the People: Revisiting Classic Works of Jewish Thought (Maggid Books and YU Press).
